This statement is made in accordance with Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 (‘the Act’) and constitutes our slavery and human trafficking statement.
We are alert to the risks that slavery and human trafficking poses to both us and our suppliers. We are confident that our approach detailed below, will prevent slavery and human trafficking within our Group and confirm our commitment to acting ethically in all our business relationships and taking a zero-tolerance approach to slavery and human trafficking. We aim to comply with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and expect of suppliers, and their supply chains, to take all reasonable steps to comply with the act.
Winn Holding Ltd is a limited company (registered number 08027068) and a subsidiary to Continental Shelf 556 Limited. The Winn Holding Group aims to provide a one stop accident management service to those non-fault parties involved in road traffic accidents. Through our subsidiary, Winn Solicitors Limited, we provide legal services in England (registered number 00400385) and they are authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority and the Financial Conduct Authority. On Hire Limited (registered number 03916876), our provider of credit hire and credit repair services is also regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. On Medical Limited (registered number 05773924), our accredited provider of medical reporting and rehabilitation services to injured parties involved in road traffic accidents.
We are one of the largest accident management service providers in the UK, employing more than 350 people within Newcastle upon Tyne in our Byker & Heaton offices.
We have incorporated our responsibilities in relation to slavery and human trafficking as set out in the Act, within our company policies.
Key policies such as our Recruitment and Selection Policy and Whistleblowing Policy reflect our zero-tolerance approach to slavery and human trafficking within our company and our supply chain.
Our policies are reviewed annually to ensure that they remain up to date. They are available to all employees on our intranet.
Regular risk assessments are undertaken within the business to ensure we identify any high-risk areas within the business and our supply chain. Any adverse findings shall be promptly and robustly addressed.
When assessing our suppliers, we assess the type of supplier, the geographical location of the supplier and any internal procedures used by the supplier to prevent slavery and human trafficking are all taken into consideration.
Our due diligence process requests all suppliers to be aware of their obligations to prevent modern slavery in their organisation and supply chain, in line with the Act. Our process also requests that suppliers provide further details in relation to this where relevant.
We monitor the effectiveness of our procedures by Conducting an annual review of our policies to ensure they remain current and continually embedding our policies throughout the business.
Our training promotes a company sense of responsibility to prevent modern slavery and explains our reporting procedures for any suspected cases.
We provide mandatory training to all colleagues on this topic through an e-learning platform.
